The Regional Champions Tournament took place over the weekend as Regional League winners from the U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-17 age groups competed against one another at the University of Guelph Gryphons Field Complex.
The showcase style scoring system was in effect, which rewards the teams that had the best overall weekend and not just one lucky match.
Congratulations to our Erin Mills Eagles GU15 (2003) on bringing home the silver medal from the 2018 Regional League Championship Tournament (hosted by Ontario Soccer, South-West District and the University of Guelph).
Eagles who finished 1st in GHSL played the league champions from CSL, ERSL and WRSL in a 3-day round-robin tournament. After winning their first two games of the tournament all the Eagles needed was a tie or a win in their last game to claim the gold... Unfortunately the Eagles came up a bit short losing 1-0 to Barrie (2017 Ontario Cup Champions).
